Home, sweet home

Is now in Stoke. There is nothing left in Nottingham, all the furniture is assembled and most of the boxes are empty. The kids are asleep in their new rooms, and the broadband is working. Just in time for us to go off again, this time on holiday. First day tomorrow meeting up with some old friends from college first time round who are on holiday together 30 minutes from here. Then on to New Wine in the caravan, hoping for more dry than wet on Newark show ground.

Maybe I'm being a drama queen

Maybe I'm over reacting, so I need some impartial input. If your toenails look like this after 3 hours basketball, are they going to fall off?

Reality Check

It's odd, the things that finally make something real to you. On Thursday evening I sat and read the Church Times, and looked through all the photos and lists of ordinands around the country. Now, we actually went to one of these ordinations, at Leicester, on Sunday. At that time I felt a bit jealous, but I was OK with it because I knew that was getting on with the job, even if the ordination bit isn't going to come until the Autumn. But on Thursday, looking at the photos of people I had trained with, spread all over the country, reality hit me. They've all gone. College is no more. I'll probably see few of them again in this life. I felt sad.
