"Sea Scene"

The kids (and us) have been having fun making this 'sea scene' or 'zeenzeen' as N calls it over the last few weeks...we actually started it in half term but kept adding to it. It has finally come to its life's end so we thought we'd better capture it for them! Full size it was about 5ft square on the dining room wall.

Bible on your iPod

Term finished last Friday, and between travelling around for a couple of placements, more details later, I am busy avoiding writing my essays. In the process I stumbled upon this little site. Now I don't have one of these iPod things, don't listen to music, but if I did, I'd love this. Plus, I think the site design is fantastic, not too fussy, stylish, and understated. podBible, it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Parish Placement

I've now know where I will be doing my parish placement. Starting a couple of weeks after Easter, I will be spending some time at St Peter's, Littleover. This is where I will see how some of what I'm learning and becoming might be applied in a parish context. I hope that it will also open up some opportunities for me to get back into exercising some of the skills that I haven't been able to use much in the college environment. I'm looking forward to this a lot, but I do need to be careful about getting the balance right between college work and getting stuck into the placement, particularly as it is likely that Liz and the kids will continue to go along to Christ Church rather than get all uprooted again.

More stuff

Last week Tabitha's school had a World Book Day dressing up competition. The children were invited to dress up as their favourite book character for the day. T initially wanted to be Sleeping Beauty with corresponding Disney outfit, but was persuaded to try something different when told most of the girls would be in such attire (they were.) So after much deliberating she chose The Tale of Tom Kitten and, of course, Mrs Tabitha Twitchett. So here she is....

She loved it and had a great day! Notice also her gappy smile....our little girl is growing up, suddenly all her teeth are falling out. The tooth fairy is very busy here (and at times a tad forgetful ;o))

Things are going well....I am working quite a lot at Little Peaches and N will start at the school nursery after Easter. I am thinking about applying for a course at college next year so will be pretty busy. The school governing is now taking off too, I am going to take over a curriculum area (not sure which yet but poss ICT, aaagh) and will then need to visit school a few times to make sure things are going smoothly.

We are planning another Together event for later in March, and Tim then will start his placement after Easter, but I'll let him tell you about that. :o)

Tomorrow we are visiting Tim's parents new church for their installation service, looking forward to seeing them and meeting some of their new church folks.

That's about it for now.
